DO YOU

want to be an even better football player and dream of playing for the Socceroos or Matildas?

The Top Shots program will help you improve your football skills so you too can be at the top of your game!  You move up the levels by completing the different skills and having them assessed by your coach.

Once you have achieved all 7 skills within your level you will be awarded a ‘Top Shot Champion’ certificate by the club.

Get Mum or Dad or brother or sister or friend to help you practice your Top Shot skills at home – the more you practice, the quicker you will become an even better footballer and move up the ‘Top Shot Champion’ levels.

What is Top Shots?

Top shots is a program of skill based practices designed to encourage young players to develop their basic football techniques outside the weekly training and game routine.  A sound technique is essential if a young player has ambitions to successfully progress along the FFA's development pathways to play for any of the representative teams at any level or play professionally in any league in the world.

Sound technique will also help the player enjoy their football.  Skilled players have more fun - and in having more fun become more skilled!

The program is an individual player centred program of skill development activity which provides junior players with the opportunity to learn and practice their football skills with their friends or family members in a convenient, safe and friendly environment.

Assessment of player progress will be conducted by the team coaches and managers.  Certificates will be awarded upon the completion of a full set of skills at a specified level.

Players should discuss the various levels with their coach and / or manager and agree a level which is best suited to their age, experience and development needs.  When they believe that they can pass the assessment criteria for the skill at that level they should have their capability assessed, 'signed off' in their 'Record of Achievement'  and progress to the next level.

Detail of the activities, levels and assessment criteria can be downloaded from the documents under 'Levels of achievement'  or 'Skills to practice' in the right hand side bar of this page.

Get started now and talk to your coach - its all in your hands!
