Small-Sided Football (SSF)

Small-Sided Football (SSF) is a modified version of football for boys and girls aged 5 – 11 introduced at the beginning of 2008 by the Football Federation Australia (FFA) as a nationwide junior development program.

SSF is about children learning and experiencing football in a structured way which both meets their developmental needs and, above all, provides them with LOTS OF FUN..

Both the Football Federation Australia (FFA) and Football Federation Victoria (FFV) websites contain valuable information regarding the Small-Sided Football initiative.  Links to further SSF information and SSF websites are provided in the side bar on the right hand side of this page for your convenience.

The Small Sided Football Video is recommended viewing and the 2 page Parents Information Sheet recommended reading.  They provide a very good overview of the initiative and why it is believed that it will be good for your child's football development.

The Small-Sided Football Handbook and Guidelines for Victoria documents are orientated towards club officials and contain  more detailed information for those who desire it.
