Melbourne Victory players at Manson Reserve Eastern Region SSF Gala Day!!

Melbourne Victory players Danny Allsopp and Matthew Kemp were in attendance as Ringwood City Juniors hosted the first Eastern Region Small-Sided Football (SSF) Gala Day for 2009.  The Gala Day was held at Manson Reserve on Saturday, May 23 starting at 10:00 am.

The Victory players gave their time generously and there are now many 'kids' (of all ages) who are proud owners of their autographs and photos with their heros.

The day saw teams from Ringwood City's U5/6, and U7/8 SSF age groups pitting themselves against teams from Boronia, Croydon City, Montrose and Mooroolbark in a 'round robin' format according to SSF formats and rules.

Some 180 children participated in 32 teams from the 5 clubs.  The games were played in 2 rounds of 16 concurrent games during the morning with Danny and Matthew staying on into the afternoon to chat, pose for photos and sign autographs.

Many thanks to Danny and Matthew for their time!

The weather was superb and a great day  was enjoyed by all.  The games were played in a terrific spirit and a fantastic atmosphere was present throughout proceedings.

The participating clubs are all looking forward to repeating the experience throughout the rest of the 2009 season

.Thank you to all who contributed to a great day!

Well done to all involved!!
