What
are the roles of the team officials?
There are 2 team officials associated with each team, the Game
Leader and the Team Supervisor.
The officials need to work together to ensure that the
day runs smoothly for the participants
The Game Leader is a more ‘on field’ role than the
Team Supervisor.
Between them they need to ensure that:
- everyone
in the team is correctly registered on the day (including
photo consent)
- the
team members (and their parents) know which pitch(es) they
are playing on and who they are playing
- the
team members get to the correct pitch and are ready to go at
the nominated time(s)
- team
members are correctly attired (Ringwood City
shirts will be provided - but on the day the FFV may insist
on the wearing of bibs - which some of the children have
trouble with), boot laces done up, shin pads are worn etc
- the
team shirts are returned in time for the following week so
they can be re-used (the club will have a 'team photo day'
on June 14th - and we will need ALL the shirts back for that
event)
- everyone
can find the facilities they need at the location (e.g.
there is likely to be a St John's first aid person in
attendance) - all this should be covered during the
introduction session on the day
- each
child in the squad gets equal game time as far as is
practical
- Ringwood
City acts in
accordance with the spirit of the event at all times -
having fun in an environment of fair play, takes its fair
share of responsibility for the smooth running of the day
for ALL participants and acts in accordance with the rules
of the event and directions of the event coordinator
In
addition, the Game Leader will most likely be requested to
supervise one or more games.
To this end the Game Leader should familiarise themselves
with the rules of Small-Sided Games as they apply to U7 and U8
teams (pages 10 – 14 of the SSG Handbook) and check with the
Event organisers as to interpretation for the day.
What
other formalities need to be completed?
Please ensure that a photo consent form is completed and
submitted for EACH Gala Day that your child is a participant.
They will not be allowed to play if the form is not
submitted. The forms
needs a parent / guardian signature and can be submitted during
team registration on the day.
Good
Luck and have a GREAT day!
